From poolside zen to supermarket chaos in 12 hours… Yesterday was my last full day away — and it was pure bliss. Sat by the pool with my journal, looking like I was plotting my next bestselling novel… really, I was just brain-dumping everything in my brain before it spilled out... A few days of reflection, gentle planning, and listening to my body — the kind of slow, peaceful pace you wish you could bottle.🤍 Fast forward to today: straight back into work in all areas, plus a “just popping in for bits” supermarket dash. Naturally, I bump into everyone I know while rocking messy hair, no make-up, and an outfit that screamed “laundry day chic” 😂 Keeping it real! @skbeatzfit Life can feel like going from a slow Sunday drive to the fast lane on the M1 overnight. But here’s my big takeaway from this break — I’m committing to two slow-down rituals every single day: 🚶‍♀️ More walking — to be present, not just to collapse on the sofa from exhaustion. ⏰ Switching off from work by 6pm — no excuses, it’s a must. Because slowing down isn’t about doing less… it’s about making everyday life feel a little more calmer. Oh how my body has felt it these past 6–8 weeks from that huge drop in oestrogen. My HRT implant has been incredible — it’s allowed me to live my BEST life over the past 11 months. At my peak, my blood levels were 790… right now, they’re sitting at 134. And wow, can I feel the difference. Lately, I’ve had to push through, counting down the days until 29th August when my new implant goes in. I’m still battling the NHS postcode lottery, so I’m paying privately — but knowing it will lift me back up to feeling me again is worth every penny albeit it doesn't feel fair. The truth is, the HRT implant will only ever get me to about 75%, so I’ve had to dig deep and explore what else can help. Here’s what’s been huge for me lately: 🤍 Movement — especially swimming, which takes the weight off my body when it’s painful. 🤍 Nutrition — I’ve stepped it up massively, and I feel the difference. 🤍 Supplements — still experimenting to find the ones that truly work for me. 🤍 Exploring — looking into IV vitamin drops… anyone had experience with these? I’m still playing with new implementations, but every little bit helps. Any suggestions from you wonderful lot? Listen to your intuition — it speaks more truth than we often give it credit for. Health doesn’t always come from medicine. Yes, medical care is important, but real, sustainable wellness? This was me, lying in a hospital bed, just after my full hysterectomy - age 35. I’d been diagnosed with stage 5 endometriosis. It had spread beyond my uterus — affecting my bowel, bladder, and spine. A full hysterectomy was advised as the way forward. It was a major decision. A life-changing one. And even now, after hearing from many professionals and speakers since, I still sometimes wonder — was it the right one? That question mark will likely always be there. But what I do know for certain is this: I’m resilient. Beyond measure. Even in that moment — sore, fragile, uncertain — I knew deep down that I wanted something good to come from all this. I didn’t want anyone else to feel the same pain, confusion or isolation I did. I wanted to support others. I wanted to give hope. That’s why I do what I do now. As a mindset, confidence and menopause coach, I feel grateful that I’m able to share the more vulnerable parts of my story — not because it’s easy, but because it’s real. And because if it helps even one woman feel less alone, it’s worth it. Now, I wear my red lipstick, my bright red nails, and my smile. It can look like I’ve always had my shit together. But this photo? This moment? This was my beginning. ✨ Everyone has a starting point. ✨ You don’t need to be perfect to start. ✨ Healing takes time — and support, both from within and around you. And just like that… the summer break begins.. The countdown until we fly away is on 🗓️ It’s always surprising how quickly the months pass — and this summer, it feels even more prominent somehow. With just two summers left before my daughter begins carving out her own path, and roughly six more with my youngest before his world starts to widen too… I’m holding onto these moments that little bit tighter. So I’m choosing to slow down abit. I'm not totally going off the radar but just breaking off here and there 🤍 More time off over the holidays.( To chunk it up abit ) With something new coming just after the break, something that both Beckie and I have been working incredibly hard on, my body needs to rest 😂... 11:11 – My Universal Nudge 11:11 shows up in moments I need it most — when I’m stuck, when I need calm, when I need to breathe and just trust. It’s not loud or dramatic. It’s quiet, gentle, and reassuring. A whisper from the universe reminding me to listen inwards. To pause. To trust my intuition. Very recently, I’ve been navigating some big changes — beautiful, expansive ones — and as always, 11:11 has gently appeared, like it always does, to remind me: “You already know. What can we say… It’s taken us a little time to truly soak in all the love, support, and incredible generosity — from kind words to your donations on our GoFundMe page. We’re beyond grateful. 💗 This morning, the alarm went off at 3:45am — and let’s be honest, it was a rough gig! 😂 The only time we’re usually up that early is for a holiday flight… not a dip in a chilly lake. But we did it. As we pulled up to the lake and saw car after car arrive, something magic started to happen - no exaggeration. One by one, incredible women turned up — ready to step out of their comfort zones. And that’s exactly what we all did. It wasn’t just a swim. It was: Getting up before Sunrise.. Braving the unknown (literally). Dropping the dry robes and showing our beautiful, real bodies — flabby bits and all. Not knowing if we’d make it around the lake — but trying anyway. We ditched the wetsuits (on the advice of the pros and in the moment!) and got in. There were flappy moments with seaweed in shoes, moments of panic, encouragement shouted across the water, someone coaxing another in — every second was filled with something empowering. We’re so incredibly proud of every woman who showed up this morning. You didn’t just swim. Thank you for being part of something so special. Thank you for showing up. Confidence vs Arrogance So often, we hold ourselves back. We shrink, we soften, we downplay ourselves — not because we lack confidence, but because we’re afraid it might be misread as arrogance. But here’s the truth: there’s a difference. * Confidence is calm, grounded and quietly assured. * Arrogance is loud, inflated and needs validation. Confidence says, “I know my worth, and I honour yours too.” Arrogance says, “I need to prove I’m better than you.” If this resignates with you, It’s time to stop dimming your light to make others comfortable. Morning sweethearts ☀️ Here’s a little snap of me braving the chill (-4°C to be exact!) and stepping right outside my comfort zone — all in preparation for our open water lake swim this Saturday at 5am, in honour of the Summer Solstice 💦 So, why do this? Partly because I love a challenge — mentally and physically — but also because for me, prep is everything. Knowing I’m going into a lake with who-knows-what beneath my body and feet absolutely terrifies me — but by installing my growth mindset, I’m all over this. 🙌 The incredible women from our group, who are showing up and doing this alongside us, have taught me so much over the past 16 months. We All Have A Hero! Who's yours? Reflecting back to when I first met this absolute powerhouse @ginge_unhinged last September… honestly, it was incredible. Meeting her in person felt like a dream - I think she thought I was a loon waiting for her to come off stage 😂😂 I was like a bouncing bunny at an event, and it wasn't as though I hadn't spoken to her multiple times because I had just not in person. But jokes aside, this woman helped pull me out of the deepest, darkest black hole — the hormone fog of surgical menopause that I never thought I’d escape. At a time when I was knocking on doors of medical professionals and getting nowhere, she opened hers. And she didn’t just open it — she welcomed me in with strength, grace, and compassion, even while walking her own path through surgical menopause. That’s something I will never forget. The guidance she supported me with, the avenues and information was incredible. During those tough days, Victoria and I exchanged countless voice notes. And what always struck me — and still does — is her honesty, her authenticity, and her way of keeping it real. When Victoria released her book a couple of years ago, it was actually my husband who reached out to her and asked for a signed copy. He gave it to me that Christmas, a time when I truly needed something to help me process my thoughts and emotions. Her journal became a safe place for all of it — and I still recommend it to anyone going through their own journey 🤍 We all have someone who’s been a hero to us, and Victoria may never quite realise just how much her support, grace, and wisdom helped me back then — and how that strength continues to ripple through me today as I support others. I see you, sweetheart. From a young age, I was taught through society and as I got older through the likes of social media that weight equalled worth. Fad diets filled my 20s and 30s. Scales ruled my emotions. I’d even go for a wee just to shift half a pound. 😂🙈 Then came my hysterectomy… and surgical menopause. I gained 3½ stone in 4–6 months. And completely lost connection with my body. The hunger was real. I lived in the fridge. Chocolate? My emotional anchor. Give me a family-size bar and I’d finish it without blinking. 🙋🏼‍♀️ But when the exhaustion hit, I knew something was off. I was tired, foggy, disconnected — and scared as I felt so cr@p. Surgical menopause puts me at risk of osteoporosis and heart disease and therefore that was the nudge I needed. I tried intermittent fasting. It helped short-term… but mentally, I was still trapped. It wasn’t until I went on the @hold_wellbeing retreat with Michaela for the first time and met the amazing Kirsty @natural_rays_hormone_harmony that things began to shift for me. Over the course of a couple of months of education with Kirsty and rewiring old patterns, I can now eat protein before 10am. This is massive for me. I was on a speed train of intermittent fasting before this but to be connected to my body and what it now deserves. Balance. Kindness. Not punishment. I still enjoy treats — but my relationship with food (and myself) is healthier now. And no, I don’t weigh myself anymore - I can't stand the scales. I go by how I feel and see what fits, season to season 🙋🏼‍♀️🤣 And just so you know: menopause weight gain is not a failure. For many women, it’s linked to hormonal changes, disrupted sleep, insulin resistance and stress. Your body is working to protect you — not punish you. You’re not broken. You’re evolving. Stripping it Back and Keeping it Real Let’s strip it all back for a moment – the titles and the roles we carry. Because under it all, I’m just a human. Just like you. This week I’ve had the lurgy that everyone gets (yes, that one – the full-on foggy head, sore body, can’t-quite-function kind). On top of that, I’m riding the hormonal waves of surgical menopause. My implant’s wearing off, and I can feel it. The shifts. The dips. The deep need to stop, pause, and breathe. Whilst it's been in, I've felt incredible and I do continue to feel so BUT, in moments like this, I can feel when I am more vulnerable. And so, I listen. I tune in – not just as a life and menopause coach, but as me. I coach myself through it the same way I’d support one of my clients: with care, with clarity, with compassion. Sometimes that means saying no. Sometimes that means doing less. Sometimes that means resting, even when the world says “keep going”. To the outside, it might look selfish. But to me – and to the women I work with – it’s a boundary. It’s a reset. It’s self-respect. So today, I’m here to help advocate the message strong and loud: You are allowed to pause. Happy Sunday from Aylesbury ✨ Today was a special one—visiting my big boy, taking him from his RAF base for food, and soaking up every precious moment together. It was absolutely heavenly. I know how adapting has been incredibly tough, how tough it has been but boy, his sheer determination is inspiring beyond imaginable words and I'm one proud Mum. As I sit here in the sunshine waiting my journey home, I begin processing the most magical week. A capsule of my week to come next week. Feeling All the Mum Feels Today 💙🤍💙 Today was a big one. Driving H to the RAF base, watching him take his first steps into this new chapter—following his dreams, embracing his future. My heart is bursting with pride, but oh, the emotions have been flowing. Boy I've definitely felt those falling from my head and face! Poor Mr White! The sadness of change, of our family unit shifting. But instead of dwelling on what’s different, I’m choosing to reframe—when we come back together, we make it even more special. This is a learning curve for all of us, and I’m embracing the ride, ready to support H in whatever way he needs. And at home? I’m still Mum, still Mummy. A Sneaky Peek into My Other Passion… ✨ Alongside my life coaching, I’m also incredibly proud to be the co-founder of Me, Myself, Menopause—a community group built with love and purpose alongside the wonderful Beckie. This started as a pipe dream when both Beckie and I found ourselves navigating menopause in very different circumstances. Three years ago, I was thrown into surgical menopause at just 35½ years old, with no professional support or community to turn to. Beckie was experiencing her own peri-menopause journey. Together, we saw a real need for a supportive space—so we created one. Over the past year, we’ve not only built a thriving community, but we’ve also gained our non-clinical menopause qualification, turned our group into a constitution, and welcomed incredible guest speakers most months. With the backing of North West Leicestershire Council and even involvement from the NHS, we’re reaching more women than ever—helping them access menopause specialists, nutritional advice, and holistic support. This month, we had the amazing Sara @sk.fitness.wellbeing share her wisdom on cold water therapy and breathwork in menopause—what an eye-opener! Thank you, Sara, for your invaluable knowledge and support. And I cannot wait for our upcoming Wellness Reset in June—our biggest fundraising event yet! It’s Okay to Do Less When You’re Dealing with More... This past week, I’ve been really run down and unwell, so I’ve had to take a step back and focus on rebuilding—nourishing my body with homemade immunity shots, warming soups, and plenty of rest. Wednesday Whispers – Fun Facts About Me! Today, I’m sharing some absolute truths about who I am at my core—the things that make me. So, here we go… I'll start with my stomach because those that know me best will know I'm totally being myself if I start there 🤣😂🫣😂. You’ll Always Find Me at the Buffet! If there’s a buffet, you know I’m first in line! I can’t resist a good spread, and don’t even get me started on cheese & pineapple on sticks—absolute elite party food. I’m not shy about what goes on my plate. Buffets are made for tasting everything, right? My Circle, My World My family is my everything. Life with my three incredible kids, my husband, and our much-loved dog, Ralph, is where my heart feels fullest. These are my people, my safe space, my biggest joy. Outdoors = My Happy Place Glamping, camping, or a cosy Shepherd’s Hut—just give me fresh air and open space, and I’m at peace. There’s something magical about slowing down, switching off, and soaking up nature that fills my soul. I’m No Baker, But I’m Definitely a Feeder! Baking? Not my forte. I once put 10 eggs in my son’s 3rd birthday cake, convinced it would make it rise better… it did not. Instead, raw egg oozed out of it. Lesson learned! But cooking? That’s my love language. Gathering my favourite people around a home-cooked meal is everything. Empower Hour! There’s nothing better than quality time with my girls. At Christmas I took to the unknown and went for my first Christmas swim into the sea, was it warm? Er no.. it was absolutely Baltic!! Was it liberating? Absolutely! I loved it! There was something about just being, feeling crazy as I was swimming in the sea at Christmas, not being able to see beneath me as there had been a storm the day before and the sea was super cloudy... Tenacity Tuesday Better late than never! With just 2 hours left of the day, I’m jumping in to celebrate tenacity in all its forms. Mine has been about prioritising me and recharging, always keeping my battery above 50% is important for the body and mind. . I spent time with the wonderful Emily at @breathe_sanctuary - Her yoga session was an absolute dream – a true sanctuary of calm, connection, and restoration. Every moment felt like a gift to myself. Emily isn’t just an incredible yoga teacher; she offers sound baths too! Her energy and presence are truly special.
