Online executive coaching: what to expect from your first session
· Amy White
Online executive coaching works just like in-person coaching, held by video so you can meet from anywhere. You begin with a short free conversation, agree how you will work together, then have regular confidential sessions on Google Meet. Each session looks at a real situation from your work and ends with a practical next step.
Step 1: A free 10-minute conversation
We talk on Google Meet about what you are looking for and whether coaching feels right. There is no pressure and no obligation. You can ask anything you like.
Step 2: Agreeing how we work
Before we start, you receive a short coaching agreement covering confidentiality, session times and cancellations, so you know exactly what to expect.
Step 3: Your first session
We explore what is happening in your role, what you want to change and what success looks like. You leave with a clear focus for our work together.
Step 4: Regular sessions
We meet online on a regular rhythm. Each session looks at a real situation from your work, builds fresh perspective and ends with practical next steps. Between sessions you have time to try things out and reflect on what you notice.
What do I need for an online session?
- a quiet, private space
- a stable internet connection
- a willingness to be open and honest
That is all. Your booking confirmation includes a calendar invitation and Google Meet link, and times are shown in your own time zone, which is helpful if you are abroad.
Is online coaching as effective as meeting in person?
Many leaders find video sessions easier to fit around a demanding diary, with no travel and the comfort of a familiar setting. Coaching depends on the quality of the conversation and the relationship, and both work well on video.
Who do I work with?
I coach senior leaders, managers and business owners across the UK and internationally. You can read how the coaching programmes work, or get in touch.
